The IIDA Alabama Chapter is a very active small chapter of IIDA in the Southeast covering the entire state of Alabama. Our membership is over 220 members of professional, associate, industry, and student member designations. We are proud to be the IIDA Small Chapter of the Year for 2008. Although our members are located throughout the state, we currently have one city center located in Birmingham and a student center at Auburn University. We are also working to build membership in the Huntsville area with the hopes of opening a city center there soon.
We offer many valuable programs and events throughout the year to our membership and the local design community. Our Chapter’s fundraising drive is always very successful as we have a close relationship with our trade industry. We would not be able to provide the numerous programs we currently offer without their continued support.
The Alabama Chapter sponsors numerous events throughout the course of the year. We provide continuing education events monthly as well as opportunties for community service and to have fun. Our biennial Idie Awards Gala celebrates excellence in interior design in our state and showcases the contributions every member makes to the success of our Chapter. This will be coming up in March 2009 and you will not want to miss it!
The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) works to enhance quality of life through excellence in interior design and to advance interior design through knowledge, value and community. IIDA is a professional networking and educational association of 13,000 Members in nine specialty Forums in 30 Chapters around the world.
