Course Description: A working knowledge of the energy codes pertaining to lighting systems for commercial applications. Includes a  discussion on the mandatory interior and exterior lighting power limitations and lighting controls. This course examines portions of Section 8 as it relates to Power and Section 9, as it relates to Lighting and Controls.

Learning Objectives:

• Obtain and apply a working knowledge of  ASHRAE 90.1 - 2016, dealing with energy issues pertaining to new and existing commercial building lighting.
• Compare and evaluate power limiting requirements pertaining to new and existing commercial building lighting.
• Compare and evaluate control requirements pertaining to new and existing commercial building lighting.
• Obtain a working knowledge of the requirements for functional testing of lighting controls.
