Please join us for a CEU + Happy Hour sponsored by Sesco Lighting at the Hoover Country Club. Join us of a one-hour CEU Course on "The Importance of Natural Light and Artificial Lighting Systems in Trauma Informed Design" (4-pm) followed by a one-hour Margarita Happy Hour (5-6pm)

Course Description: This one-hour course will help clients gain an understanding of what Trauma is and it’s short- and long-term effects. It examines Trauma Informed Care and Trauma Informed Design, and the principles and elements of T.I.D.

Attendees will gain an understanding of Why Light and Lighting matter in T.I.D., as well as how we see and how light affects our Circadian Rhythm. Another segment explains Photophobia and its effects on traumatic brain injuries and then it discusses Light and Lighting specific strategies for T.I.D. This section includes topics such as The Quality of Light, Prioritizing Daylight, Controls, Tunable White Light, Mitigating Glare and other elements which directly aid in the health, safety and wellness of the traumatically injured and their caregivers.

Learning Objectives: Attendees will

  • Be examining what is Trauma, and discussing examples, short and long term impacts and the 3 E’s of Trauma
  • Cover what is Trauma Informed Design, discuss Trauma Informed Care and the principles and elements of T.I.D.
  • Discuss why Light and Lighting matter in T.I.D. and aspects of how we see and how light affects our Circadian Rhythm
  • Discuss Photophobia and its effects on Traumatic Brain Injuries
  • And investigate and discuss Light strategies for TID including topics such as the Quality of Light, Prioritizing Daylight, Controls, Tunable White Light, Mitigating Glare and others that directly aid in the Health, Safety and Welfare of the Traumatically Injured and their caregivers

REGISTRATION IS LIMITED TO 25 PEOPLE.
